Park Night: Diligence

Hey everyone! We are so happy you are joining us for some fun at the park! Along with playing some volley ball and other games, we also want to encourage you to follow up with the spiritual aspect of being in a small group. So, we have put some words down here for you to read though… on your own or with someone else! The bible verses are linked to ‘bible.com’! So there really is nothing you need to do besides start reading below.

Week 1 is focused DILIGENCE.

Showing diligence to God.

“Ye shall keep the commandments of the Lord your God, and his testimonies, and his statutes, which he hath commanded thee.” Deuteronomy 7:17

Diligently listen to His Voice.

To diligently listen to the voice of the Lord means to remove other competing voices and philosophies to give full attention to the scripture and messages of godly believers.

Diligently keep His commandments

To keep the commandments means to keep them before your eyes so that you can easily observe them day after day. Rulers were commanded to write out their own personal copy of God’s law so they could read it daily — an excellent idea to follow.

Diligently Love the Lord your God.

Jesus taught us to demonstrate our love for the Lord by keeping God’s commandments and by helping believers grow spiritually. See also John 14:21 and John 21:15.

Diligently study the bible.

In order to be diligent in our studies, we must learn how to use key reference books, such as concordances, greek and hebrew dictionaries, and lexicons, so we can search out the precise meanings of words in their original languages. Begin a journal for recording insights.

Diligently seek the Lord.

Seeking the Lord requires that we learn about his attributes and names. He invites us: “Take my yoke upon you and learn from me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.” Matthew 11:29

Showing diligence to Conscience.

Diligently evaluate your thoughts

The biblical word plenteousness means “profitable, beneficial, and worthwhile.” On the other hand, the desires of the slothful result in inadequacy and discontentment. As believers, we are to take every thought captive to make sure that it is consistent with the character and truth of Christ.
